Young Children
Safe for everyone, including young children. Does not contain profanity, nudity, sexual content or scenes of drug use. Violence is minimal. Death, whether of humans or animals, is absent, including references to deaths in the past. (Approximately equivalent to G rating.) |
Pre-Teen
Some material may not be suitable for younger children, especially under the age of 8. Does not contain scenes of drug use or sexually-oriented nudity. Mild profanity only. Sexual content is very mild with no detailed descriptions, usually not describing anything beyond kissing and non-intimate caressing. Most adult themes are generally absent. Horror and violence do not exceed moderate levels. May include the death of humans and animals. (Approximately equivalent to PG rating.) |
Teen
Contains material that may be inappropriate for children under 13. Content may include mildly descriptive sex scenes, moderately explicit violence and some adult themes, including drug use. May contain rape/non-consensual sex, but the act is not described with any detail. One use of the harsher sexually-derived words may be present. (Approximately equivalent to PG-13 rating.) |
Mature
Contains some adult material suitable only for older teens and adults. May contain explicit violence, adult themes and strong profanity, including multiple uses of sexually-derived words. Sexual content (including rape/non-con sex) may go into moderately descriptive detail. (Approximately equivalent to R rating.) |
Adult
Contains adult material suitable only for mature audiences 18 and over. May contain explicit sex, including explicit scenes of rape/non-con sex). Scenes of excessive, extremely explicit violence may be present. (Approximately equivalent to NC-17 rating.) |
