General Submission Rules
First, though not a rule, we ask that you please list the fanfic title and author's name at the head of your story. This will make indentification possible if the information in the database is ever lost. It is preferred that you include rating, category, genre, warnings and spoiler information as well. There is more about this on the Help/FAQ page.
- Stories must be submitted to the proper category. DO NOT choose more than one category to submit under. See Rule #2 for more about this. Below are some examples to help you choose the right category.
- Fanfic #1 has a little UST, but is mostly about Daniel and Sam's friendship. This story belongs in "UST and Pre-Ship " but not "Friendship" because the relationship isn't limited to friendship.
- Fanfic #2 starts with UST, but eventually progresses into a romantic relationship. That story belongs ONLY in "New Romance" even if most of the story has just UST.
- Fanfic #3 progresses from the start of the relationship and on though a period of several months (or years). This story belongs ONLY in "New Romance" even though it follows their relationship past the "new" stage.
- Submission of a Series: Though each individual story in a series can be put in only a one category, the series itself can be in multiple categories. For example, in a three-story series, if the first story is "UST and Pre-Ship", the second is "New Romance" and the third is "Established Relationship", then you can select all three of those categories FOR THE SERIES.
- Titles and summaries are required and must be suitable for children. "Please read", "Untitled", etc. are not acceptable titles or summaries. Do your best to make your summary an adequate description of what your story is about without giving away too much of the plot. Remember that whether or not someone reads your story may depend on what the summary says.
- Correct grammar and spelling are expected of all stories submitted to this site. The site administrators are not grammar Nazis, but they do reserve the right to request corrections in submissions with a multitude of grammar and/or spelling errors. If such a request is ignored, the story will be deleted.
- All stories must be rated correctly and have the appropriate warnings. All adult rated stories are expected to have warnings. After all, they wouldn't have that rating if there wasn't something to be warned about! Please note: Stories containing adults having sex with minors are strictly forbidden.
- Stories with multiple chapters should be archived as such and NEVER as separate stories. Upload the first chapter of your story, then go to Manage Stories in your account to add additional chapters. If you have trouble with this, please contact the site administrators or ask a friend to help you.
- Spoiler warnings are mandatory for Seasons 9 and 10. When it comes to those seasons, you must specify which episodes the story contains spoilers for. For example, an appropriate spoiler warning would be: "Spoilers for Morpheus and The Pegausus Project." For all other seasons, no spoiler warnings are required, though, for the sake of the readers, you should at least mention what seasons there are spoilers for.
Story Content Rules
- This archive is for fanfics that feature Daniel and Sam's relationship as an important part of the story. It is not for fanfics in which their relationship is only one small element of the story as a whole. Sometimes, when stories are part of a series, not all of the stories in that series will have a strong focus on the Daniel/Sam relationship. Such stories are fine for this archive as long as the entire series is submitted, and the series as a whole does have a strong Daniel/Sam focus.
- Other Pairings: To a limited extent, stories with other pairings are allowed, but there are very strict rules.
- Other pairings that do not include Daniel or Sam (e.g. Jack/Janet, Teal'c/Ishta, etc.): There are no restrictions in regards to stories that have such a pairing as long as it is the secondary pairing in the story, meaning that it is not focused upon more than Daniel and Sam's relationship. For example, no Cam/Vala ship stories with a "side order" of Daniel/Sam friendship.
- Other pairings that include Daniel or Sam (e.g. Jack/Sam, Daniel/Vala, etc.): Unless the story ends with Daniel and Sam as a romantic couple, fanfics that have either one of them paired with or in love with someone else are not allowed on this archive. And when we say "a couple", we don't mean a case where they have sex, but Sam or Daniel's heart still belongs to someone else. Below are two examples to explain what is and is not allowed.
- In Fanfic #4, Sam is in love with Jack, but can't have him because of regulations. She and Daniel end up sleeping together and decide to continue a sexual relationship even though Sam does not love Daniel. It's just for mutual comfort and sexual gratification. This story does NOT belong here.
- In Fanfic #5, Sam is in love with Jack, but can't have him because of regulations. She and Daniel have sex and come to realize that they feel a lot more than just friendship for each other. Sam still has some feelings for Jack but now knows that it's Daniel she wants to be with. Such a story is fine for this archive.
- Threesomes (multiples) and "love triangles": Stories that have Daniel and/or Sam carrying on a relationship with two or more people are not allowed. For example, no fics where Sam is in a relationship with both Daniel and Pete. Also not allowed are relationships that involve three or more people all having sex with each other. For example, no Jack/Daniel/Sam pairings. This would also violate the rule below about Slash.
- No Slash please, regardless of the pairing.
Submissions found to be in violation of the story content rules will be removed. Depending on the intent and severity of the violation, the author's account may be suspended.
The site administrators reserve the right to modify these rules as needed. If you are unsure if your story meets the requirements, please contact the administrators, and they will be happy to review it. Also please contact them if you have any questions about the rules.
